I asked seller about high cost of shipping. I was told it took a special kind of box and shipping material because it was glass item arrive in a bulging worn out box with mostly newspaper as packing. However vase was in perfect condition.

This item was expensive to ship as it was fairly large, I believe this vase was about two feet tall. The item was wrapped in several layers of bubble wrap, and the newspaper was to keep it from moving in the box, as oppose to providing protection, this is standard in shipping glass, as well as the reusing of boxes. I hope you enjoy your vase!
