    Audubon does it again!

    As a former Audubon member, I am well aware of the quality of the societies publications, and this is no exception. Although there is a updated version which mentions the effects of alternate fuels on the price of seed, this older edition is not surpassed in content by the newer release. Covered subjects are "what does a bird do" during the day and as the seasons change, how and which bird (male or female) nurtures it's brood, maturation of, bird markings and identification, nesting boxes, etc. The most important and truly overlooked, is how as a backyard birdfeeder/watcher, you can plant certain species of plants in your yard to give cover or to feed your birds. Highly recommended especially if your only motivated to buy one birding book.

    Great book for young and old bird lovers!

    I bought the book because it contains information about individual birds in an easy to read form. It has their nesting habits, mating, food they like, birdhouses, etc. I got it to share bird watching and bird information with my 7 year old daughter. The pictures are wonderful and reading about each bird we see is very interesting to her.
