Adam Crowley, a sorcerer living in London who was defeated in the first Nightmare Creatures, is close to achieving immortality. He has recently murdered Ignatius Blackward and Nadia Fransiscus, founders of the Circle, in order to obtain the magical artifact known as the Glymph. Players assume the role of Herbert Wallace, a man kidnapped at a young age by Adam Crowley who is now having visions about the recent events. On their quest to stop the evil sorcerer, players will combat more than 20 creatures with a number of weapons.

Great condition, mediocre game.
This is nowhere near as fun as Nightmare Creatures 2. There are something like three combos in the entire game THREE. It is gorgeous, sounds great, but this really should have been a PS2 game and one that wasn't clearly rushed. Quite frankly it is sad just how great the enemy and monster designs are compared to how miserable it is to play. I want to see more of the world but the game is fighting me through boredom and cheap encounters to get there. This is nowhere near as fun as Nightmare Creatures 2. Nightmare Creatures for PS1
I bought Nightmare Creatures because killing zombies and monsters sounded fun. The game can be fast-paced and nerve wracking. It's also pretty cool when you slice a zombie in two.The upper torso will try and grab you if you get too close.The boss battles are increasingly hard.(that's the nerve wracking part). What I don't like are the controls.To be effective, you have to use the directional buttons not the analog stick. That slows the gameplay down abit.(I ended up running around in circles until I switched from the stick to the buttons). NightMare Creatures for Playstation 1
I love this game for one main reason.... its like Resident Evil but without the slow boring parts!!! Nightmare Creatures is at a faster pace, but similar to Resident Evil in which you have to maneuver through zombies, hordes of strange creatures, werewolves and other monstrosities while trying to find and open secret doors. The plot/story is simple... youre in 19th-century Prague, creatures have been released by the necromancer Adam Crowley, who has resurrected the Brotherhood of Hecate. All you have to do is kill the creatures and find Crowley. Great fun! If you are into games that have monsters and zombies running at you and jumping out of dark places to scare the tar out of you then this is a game for you. however if you are used to using the analog stick get over it is D-pad all the way on this fun game. graphics are not too bad for a game as old as this one. it is a little hard to control sometimes and you can only save at certain times which can sometimes be difficult. All in all though i love this game.
