Director Adrian Vitoria helms this riveting World War II film in which a corporal (Danny Dyer - DOGHOUSE) is assigned to the newly-created 30 Commando Unit. The recruits are quickly thrown into a punishing training regime before they are deployed on a deadly mission that will involve the unit parachuting into Nazi-occupied Norway and attempt to capture the enemyÆs radar technology. What follows is an intense campaign that will see the commandos engage in fierce fire fights, rescue a village of frightened civilians and uncover a sly double agent among their number. THE AGE OF HEROES also stars Sean Bean, Izabella Miko and James D'Arcy , the latter appearing as future novelist and James Bond creator Ian Fleming, who was also inducted into the 30 Commando Unit.

    Well worth the money. Sean Bean Rocks

    When I first saw this film advertised I was dubious about the content, having been overwhelmed with the plethora of WWII stories of late. However the stylish presentation of the tale based around the inception of Ian Fleming's commado's was inspired. I was transported back to a time and grittiness of the big film extravaganza's that the big Hollywood studio's used to produce in the 60's such as "Hero's of Telemark" and my all time favorite "Where Eagles Dare". Sean Bean was an inspired choice for the leader of this group of fearless warriors willing to die for King & Country. He displayed a ruthlessness and vitality that Churchill himself would have been proud of. Danny Dyer as his not so trustworthy acolite shows a character with promise, if only he'd follow orders and be a team player. ...

    best british ww2 film in years

    great show it seems their may well be a follow up to this film as we dont know what happened to the main charecters in the film at the end great scenery as well excellant special effects.
