About this product

Product Information

A port of Sega's 2000 coin-op title, 18-Wheeler for GameCube has players hauling cargo across four separate routes while competing against a rival trucker. The four routes consist of New York to Key West, St. Petersburg to Dallas, Dallas to Las Vegas, and Las Vegas to San Francisco. Players race from a view inside the cab of their chosen 18-wheeler, each rated in speed, torque, and toughness, and must reach a series of checkpoints within a time limit to keep on trucking.

Points are earned based on three conditions: the time it takes to reach the finish line, the amount of cargo left intact after hitting objects, and whether or not players finished ahead of their rival. Completing the route before the competition unlocks one of three mini-games where players are challenged to park in specially designated areas within a certain amount of time. Finishing the objective reveals a horn, muffler, or engine to boost an 18-wheeler's performance.

As in the arcade game, each course features branching paths and fantasy elements such as a swirling tornado making its way across the highway. Other game modes include Parking Mode, Score Attack, and Versus Mode. Parking offers a series of five additional parking challenges, Score Attack involves racing on four three-lap tracks for points, while Versus is a two-player competition on a split screen. A total of five difficulty levels are available to customize the challenge.

Fast shipping! Great packaging! The listing said CIB, but there is no manual. Other than that, A+ eBay Seller! Thanks!

Item was just as described, but packaging was not great. I was lucky that the item arrived undamaged, that's the only reason I am leaving positive feedback. You DON'T ship a vintage Tonka in just a padded envelope!

  • Most critical review

Great fun for the an arcade fan but no one else.

Very mediocre but fun in bursts, its a short game as you'd expect from an arcade title but there isn't enough to justify playing thru it more than once or twice. It is fun at first but quickly becomes frustrating with annoying time limits. There also isn't enough content but that is sometimes expected from an arcade home release. But this problem is this isn't the arcade.

  • Great Game, a little disappointed...

When I was smaller, I loved this game because of the trucks, and how difficult I found it to be. I bought it recently, and it was great at first, and even a little challenging. But once I passed it, that was it. It's only three levels long with the campaign, and the versus gets a little boring after awhile. It was awesome, but it loses it's replay value after a while. But that's just me. I will still keep this game forever, as I have very fond memories with it. I would recommend it, while it is not expensive.

  • Super Game, Good Graphics, Just like the Arcade Game A+

Super Game. Good Graphics. Kewl Trucks. Who wouldn't love to go smashin stuff up in a big rig! Too much Fun! Nothing stops these babies! Atleast you aren't shooting people and, beating people up. And, all that violence! It's like a demolition Derby with a big truck! And, there is a bit of skill too! Try parking a big rig without messing up and, hurry! What a hoot to watch mom play!

  • Semi worth it

You've all seen this game before. It's the one that is generally in arcades, and it normally has the full bench seat with the over-sized wheel etc... Well, it's a simple game. You have to race the clock and a rival truck to your destination. You have to dodge cars, other semis, and other various obstacles or you will lose money. The graphics stink, the game play stinks, and you really shouldn't expect much out of this game. However, it's not a bad buy for around $4 - $6. It'll definitely keep kids busy.
