  • The Roches-New York's Finest

I have owned Roche music for over 30 years now-vinyl-tape-and CD. I've grown up along side of them. If the folk genre is your cup of happiness, you won't be disappointed. "The Roches" is a benchmark album (the first for the three sisters). As a showcase for their phenominal voices and unique approach to their life's pursuit, "The Roches" has a timeless quality. This album will appeal to the seeker of the simple as well as to you with the most jaded musical palette. Any instrumentation is minimal-but percise. Maggie's, Terre's and Suzzy's vocal abilities trully are an orchestration in and of themselves and a joy to behold. Can you tell that I'm a fan?

  • The Roces by Roches CD

I had the classic Roches album, "Keep on Doing," for years, but then lost the original vinyl in a basement flood. I've been looking for a CD replacement for years. When I finally found it, I also saw this first release by the Roches and I'm so glad I got it! Same fabulous vocals and Robert Fripp producing and just more great songs. The Roches is that rare group that you love for their music as well as for the laugh out loud wit in their lyrics.

  • Great Classic Roches

I found this album when I was in college and was so happy to find the CD 20 years later. This album is a classic with fresh, original, folksy, honest tunes graced with outstanding harmonies. Some of it's really silly while other songs are very touching. For those who might appreciate uniquely feminine folk music with fun quirks and a lot of heart, this is a good choice. The other Roches CD I would recommend is Keep on Doing for the same reasons.

  • UPGRADE!!

LOVE this album and a friend quoted a song one day which prompted me to dig thru my CDs and play it. Well I dug for a while and found .......the cassette!!! LOL I have not had a cassette player in YEARS!!! So glad to re-introduce this to my music collection!!! Great Price and SUPER fast shipping too!!!

  • Of it's time, yet still timeless

After watching an old SNL re-run not to long ago, with the Roches singing "The Hallaleluja Chorus," I remembered that I liked them back in the early 80's. Being a punk-rockin' guy, I of course couldn't admit that I liked the Roches back then. They weren't hot chicks, but quirky looking women with great voices. I'm older now, so it's okay to say I like them. The arrangements and production are excellent, and I enjoy listening.
