In Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney -- Justice for All, players take the role of a young defense attorney who must examine witnesses, investigate crime scenes, analyze testimonies, and collect evidence in hopes of obtaining a not guilty verdict. Phoenix is faced with four different cases including an introductory level where players are shown the ropes of the game. If stuck, Phoenix can call on Maya Fey and Pearl Fey, two psychics, for help. They offer leads and clues to get gamers back on track. <br><br>Additionally, gamers can use an item called the Magatama to see subjects or "Psyche-locks" a witness is not willing to talk about. Gathering enough evidence and presenting them to the person with the corresponding "Psyche-lock" will unlock these secrets and help the overall case. Players can also present profiles as evidence ultimately doubling the amount of facts Phoenix has against the prosecution. Though the game requires no shooting of any kind, Phoenix will eventually "die" if too many mistakes are made and his life bar is completely depleted. However, gamers can refill the life bar by accessing "Psyche-locks" and getting important information from witnesses.

An excellent sequal for an excellent series
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All is pretty much more of the same, but that's a good thing. The game features a Psych Lock feature where you find out witness' secrets by presenting evidence. There are more locks depending on the scale of the secret. If someone just was revealing something small, less locks. But a case-changing one, not so easy. There is also some more comedic writing, and the storyline gives you choices, even though they all eventually lead to the same place. There is also a new prosecutor, and there is now a life bar system, where you can lose different amounts of life depending on how bad you slip up, which goes hand-in-hand with the psych lock system. I think these all make up, and more, for the lack of a fifth case. Presentation: Excellent and ... Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All is pretty much more of the same, but that's a good thing. On Case 2, I wanted to argue at a different angle, but you can only put so much in a DS cartridge. Also, more difficult. Replay Value: Difficulty helps, but is still short. But a blast while it lasts.

Since the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney first hit in 2005, Capcom's whimsical litigation simulation has grown into a bizarre cult phenomenon, steadily amassing a surprisingly sizable fan base of wannabe defense lawyers. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney—Justice for All picks up precisely where that first caseload ended: Expect to enjoy the same snappy writing, witty pop-culture references, and quirky sense of humor here. In fact, it's almost as if nothing has changed in Phoenix's world: Nearly every character from the first game reappears in Justice for All. The familiar cast and surroundings serve to ease you back into the largely unchanged gameplay. Once again, you're gathering ... Outstanding once again in the world of Phoenix Wright. I'm at a lost of words of how amazing this game is. Sure, the whole thing skates dangerously close to the "edutainment" realm by building its core mechanic around reading comprehension and deductive reasoning, but then again, DS gamers weaned on Brain Age will likely welcome the cerebral stimulation. Unfortunately, even Phoenix's biggest supporters will raise a few objections about this slightly underwhelming sequel. Both games began their lives as Game Boy Advance titles in Japan, but while Capcom wisely added an all-new, DS-exclusive scenario (complete with cool touch-panel puzzles) to the first game, Justice for All (also a GBA port) receives no such upgrade. The only real difference between this Phoenix and its predecessor comes with the addition of "Psyche-locks," obnoxious little puzzles that force you to do a tremendous amount of backtracking during the investigation portions. Now, instead of craftily massaging a piece of intel from a witness, you'll have to scour the repetitive locales for a handful of objects that trigger certain responses. Truly, these tacked-on quests don't constitute much of an enhancement. Don't misconstrue this review as hateful, though: If you dug the original Phoenix Wright, odds are that you'll also enjoy playing through this one. It's just as funny, endearing, and charming as the first game, yet it's impossible to ignore the tremendous lack of innovation Capcom exhibits. With an ingenious, visually impressive adventure title like Hotel Dusk: Room 215 hitting store shelves alongside Justice for All, this rehash seems lazier than ever. This game should have creative touch-panel puzzles, better visuals, and spoken dialogue beyond the occasional quip of "Objection!"

Phoenix Wright has a charm to it that no other game can copy; while it may feel different from the original Ace Attorney, this game is still a gem that warrants, nay, REQUIRES a purchase. If you own a DS and need a game, Phoenix Wright is the perfect solution. Not only is the series reknowned in Japan, but its popularity in the United States has blossomed ever since the introduction of the first game to American markets by Capcom. Of course, if you plan on buying the game, be aware that it requires muchn reading and ... Justice for All
After buying Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, I knew I was hooked. It is one of the best, most interesting, and certainly most addictive games I've yet played. My little brother seems to agree with me, based on the fact that he keeps on borrowing the game and playing his way through. Naturally this meant that I needed to go and buy the next in the series - having done so and just finished it, I have to say I am pleased. In my opinion, when set against the cases of the first game the first three cases of Justice for All are somewhat below the standard that was set by the first, especially the fourth case, which left things on a pretty high note. The first case of Justice for All is, in my opinion, the worst offender - it's necessary for newcomers as it acts as an introduction, but for people ... The first case of Justice for All is, in my opinion, the worst offender - it's necessary for newcomers as it acts as an introduction, but for people who have played the first game might find it rather dull - the most important feature is to introduce two of the changes to the gameplay that were introduced for the sequel. Please don't misunderstand; I am not saying that the first three cases are not fun (indeed, they're quite enjoyable) however, when set against the standard of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (especially the final few cases) they didn't seem to quite reach the same point that the cases of the first game did. The fourth and last case makes up for everything that the other three lack, however, and I'd say that it is very worth buying the game even if only for that last case. It is amazing, very long, and full of twists and shocks - it's one of if not the best case in the first two games, in my opinion. Several new features include psych-locks, which appear when a person is lying and which you need to break with pieces of evidence. These jump between fun and frustrating, as it's cool to figure out what will unlock a person's secrets and also slightly maddening when everyone you talk to has secrets and you don't know where to get said evidence that will force them to talk to you. Another new feature is the ability to present character profiles as well as evidence; something that makes that second half of your court record suddenly much more important and worth paying attention to, as well as making it a lot harder to just bluff your way through when you figure you're probably supposed to present something here but don't remember what. They also changed your 'life' meter from the way it was in the first - instead of always getting five chances, there's instead a continuous bar that various amounts can be subtracted from if you do something wrong. It makes some actions much more of a risk, some much less - and it doesn't refill with every recess, which makes keeping track of everything all the more important. For the most part I enjoyed the soundtrack of the first game a bit more, though I loved certain tracks on the second game as well. There's a cast of returning characters you've grown to love as well as new ones (including a new prosecutor, who makes things... interesting, to say the least) who are just as wonderful as the characters in the first game. Overall I'd call this game a very fitting sequel to Ace Attorney, and would certainly recommend it to any fans of the first game or anyone who enjoys challenging, logic based, fun and funny games. Or everyone, actually, and the first game as well as it's just one of those kinds of games. Overall it was excellent. A wonderful entertainment.
