The OnePlus-6T is a leap forward from my previous phone. It has a superb Amoled display which is readable in sunlight. It has much better battery life, and the ability to rapid-charge on the necessary OnePlus fast charger. I say necessary because I have a regular 3-amp charger which does not match the charge-rate of the OnePlus charger. The camera is better and the phone is running Android/OxygenOS version eleven. There is no dedicated fingerprint reader. There is a screen-based fingerprint reader which performs well, but it is not as good as the sensor on my old phone. Also the sensor does not work if the screen is off, so one has to shake the phone or click the power button on the side to bring it to life. I used to use Swiftkey, which had useful editing controls, but the latest version of Swiftkey seems to have abandoned that idea so I am using the Google keyboard which is quite good but not as good. I do not play games nor watch videos, I use it as a phone with added email and of course a few Apps such as Alexa and Signal. I bought this phone to replace my ageing and battered OnePlus-2, whose battery was creaking and which had dropped out of support for operating system updates. The '2' was naked and has bounced a couple of times, the 6T will not survive a drop onto a hard surface and I have therefore fitted a case (which does work!). I am happy with my new purchase.Read full review

These are deal breakers 1- The finger print reader is the worst I've ever seen, I've got 5 finger prints set to the same thumb and if uve got the slightest but of dirt on your hands it will not read. 2- The camera is awfull in anything bar bright day light. Battery life is good and phone is fast but it is no were even close to Samsung.

Great phone for stock android experience, battery life is fine for a smartphone of this size, easily last a day with moderate use. It is a BIG phone though, takes bit of time to get use to but great device!

Probably the best all-round 'smartphone' for installing Linux. Choice of Linux distros including Mobian, PostmarketOS, Droidian and UB Ports (aka Ubuntu Touch). The latter two distros use an existing Android kernel (for its hardware drivers) with a hardware abstraction layer (Halium) on top. Whereas Mobian and PostmarketOS hit the bare metal with mainline Linux kernels. The 6T phone itself is powered by a middle-ranking octocore Qualcomm Snapdragon SD845, 6/8GB of DRAM and a 128GB/256GB flash, with a rather nice OLED display. There's no looking back once you've ditched the spyware-infested Google Android and Apple iPhone! Give it a try! You will not be disappointed. Bag yourself a OnePlus 6T, wipe the phone clean of Google garbage - give the Beasts of BigTech a long-deserved boot in the bollox - and install Linux instead! Read full review
