It is a must for the hardcore Star Wars fans. It leads well to episode IV New Hope though there are some contradictions, such as at least half of the rebel fleet seeing the Death Star in the end of the Rogue One. It is a darker story along the lines of episodes II and III. I agree completely with the rating given by Disney: Fit for viewing by persons aged 12 years or more. There is a new negative character - Director Krennic. The actor Ben Mendelsohn played him very well but I disagree with the choice of white uniform. Too many of the Star Wars fans believe that the Grand Admirals are the only senior leaders of the Empire entitled to wear white uniforms. Being a Star Wars fan for so long it's difficult to see this movie in a negative way. It has its ups and down, but in general it's okay. I had difficulty in fitting it into the Star Wars timetable. On the other hand it's a bit too much to know everything there is to know about the Star Wars world. It is so vast and so many creative people are involved on a daily basis, so... I enjoyed especially the characters and the actors, and ofcourse the tie-in with The new Hope, although the SFX department could have done a better job with recreating Princess Leia.

Rogue One. Is the actual prequel to "A New Hope" A completely new story line not directly linked to the "Revenge of The Sith" However the story does include some old characters like Senator Organa and cameo appearances of CP30 and R2D2, but no Jedi knights. The characters in Rogue One is more ground level characters which briefly shows the darker side of the resistance. It is a good movie and is now part of the Star Wars genre!

Out of all the star wars off the beaten track genres that Disney have thrown out this is the best one because it just makes sense. The other one around Hans was lame but this one is great.

Brilliant edition of the star wars series. The pre story told in movie leads up nicely to the events in the original star wars movie.
