Karl Mays Erzgebirgische Dorfgeschichten sind eine Reihe von Erzahlungen aus dessen Fruhwerk. Eine Auswahl erschien aus strategischen Grunden zusammen mit zwei Erzahlungen des Spatwerks in einer Anthologie gleichen Namens 1903. Diese Werke gehoeren zur Gattung der Dorfgeschichten und spielen in Mays erzgebirgischer Heimat. Fast alle Werke enthalten Anspielungen auf dessen Biografie, allerdings verarbeitete er in diesen Erzahlungen zudem die authentischen Eindrucke seiner erzgebirgischen Heimat und des Sozialmilieus. An typischen Elementen der Gattung Dorfgeschichte finden sich die romantisierenden (Nutzung von Dialekt im Gesprach, Liebes- und Heiratsepisoden) und moralisierenden Zuge. Hinzu tritt noch eine Vermischung mit dem kriminalistischen Schema. Die Charaktere sind ubertrieben als gut oder boese dargestellt, wobei am Ende immer die Gerechtigkeit siegt. Hatte May allgemein mit seinem Fruhwerk literaturpadagogische Ziele, so wollte er mit seinen Dorfgeschichten den Leser (und den Autor) ermahnen und warnen, ihn erschrecken und aufrutteln . Inhalt: - Sonnenscheinchen - Des Kindes Ruf - Der Einsiedel - Der Dukatenhof - Vergeltung - Das Geldmannle - Karl Friedrich May (1842-1912) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller. Karl May war einer der produktivsten Autoren von Abenteuerromanen. Er ist einer der meistgelesenen Schriftsteller deutscher Sprache und laut UNESCO einer der am haufigsten ubersetzten deutschen Schriftsteller. Bekannt wurde er vor allem durch seine sogenannten Reiseerzahlungen, die vorwiegend im Orient, in den Vereinigten Staaten und im Mexiko des 19. Jahrhunderts angesiedelt sind. Besondere Beruhmtheit erlangten die in drei Banden zusammengefassten Geschichten um den Indianer Winnetou. Viele seiner Werke wurden verfilmt, fur die Buhne adaptiert oder zu Hoerspielen verarbeitet.
