I only read about this group because I was planning on heading to Nashville,TN in November and they are a headliner. Searched the web and heard a few songs...which I enjoyed. The music is very positive. Not monotone in the least bit. Very well written. Side-Note: I am not a religious person nor a country music fan. This CD is a great blend of rock with a bit of country. This is one of those CDs that you can play straight through without skipping a song or two.
The first time I heard NEEDTOBREATHE, I absolutely fell in love with their fun music style and Bear's voice! I just had to get their album and I was definately not dissappointed! I played it until I had every line memorized! It quickly became my my most favorite CD! Not every song is Christian music but it's fun and makes me want to dance and sing around my house! I would definately reccomend this to anyone.

NeedtoBreathe is a Christian group I first heard on the Air1 radio station. Local San jose 100.9 FM, so I searched them up. Now I have all their songs. The singers got a lot of passion. They go with a strong passionate soulful vibe with acoustics. Recent album goes with a johnny cash themed tunes. Like to go old and make it sound new. Anyways, Need to Breathe is awesome.
I was glad to hear the 3rd album from NEEDTOBREATHE and also to discover that they'd lost none of their momentum or drive, but continue to meet and exceed expectations musically and lyrically, proving their practically unrivalled talent and band chemistry. This band can do whatever it wants, and they will do it well.
This is not the Need to Breathe from the golden age of Daylight. There are no fantastic electric guitars and a frenzy of hooks to be found. I don't care what award they won or who they toured with. This album is pathetic. All the songs sound alike and the singer never treats his vocals. Its like they got into a basement with a single microphone and no effects of any kind and gave birth to this unsubstantial bunch of crap. I'm giving it two stars because the singer does have a nice voice. Maybe they could have done 2 or 3 that way -- but the whole album? Gimme a break.
The Outsiders blend a great range of instruments to produce music that is uplifting and inspiring. The combination of guitar, harmonica, banjo, drums and the voice of the lead singer sounds like a cross between Hootie and the Blowfish and Blues Traveler which is a great thing. This Christian band has produced a great ablum that draws you in and has you singing along.
