Cloudy window for screen, not direct fit
The faceplate has a really matte finish. It gives a smooth but cloudy view, especially through which the games should play through. I bought this to replaced a scratched face plate which seems more clear to play with than this matte-replacement. Also 1 of the 2 hinges don't snap so i wouldn't call it a "perfect fit". I could lift up one of the sides from the front with my nail and with a little wiggling, i can remove the entire face plate off. Try a different brand
I had pretty high hopes for this faceplate considering the packaging I thought it wouldn’t be the same as all the Chinese faceplates (I haven’t tried any of those to clarify) but once it arrived it just felt terrible. The growing window was noticeably cloudier then my OEM faceplate which was scratched quite a bit. I look for some sort of film to remove I was hoping maybe there was just a film to prevent scratching, there was not. I could deal with the cloudiness I guess since it was in overall better condition then my original, then I noticed the ultimate deciding factor that led me to literally throwing this faceplate in the trash. IT CROPS THE LCD IMAGE. I noticed this when playing Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga at the start up screen the “Nintendo 2003” banner gets cropped out. Does not ... Coated Screen Cover
I'm not sure how they treat the backs of these faceplates but whatever they did, they did not do properly. The faceplate arrives with a piece of clear plastic covering the clear area where the screen should be visible. It seems this is done before applying some kind of protective coating to the back of the plate. They did not apply the clear plastic appropriately and wound up coating a good chunk of the clear area, distorting the screen on one edge.I'm not sure how they treat the backs of these faceplates but whatever they did, they did not do properly. Blurry
The face plate is a good price.... and that is the only good thing about it. The screen is blurry. It's like they sprayed a clear coat over the front of the plate without masking off the screen. Horrible product.
