This was a compelling read. I couldn't put it down until I finished it over two days. It gives real insight into the lives of these women that lived in the Mansion. I can't say I am surprised at the dynamics of all who lived there, the jealousy, the scheming and motivation of greed or opportunity from other women. I did not realize that there were more than the three girls featured that lived in the house at any one time. In fact it was a harem. I am sure there will and has been offense taken by others from what Holly has written as an honest depiction of what goes on and her take on personalities of other girls that lived in the house. But I can see and believe from her account, her lack of self esteem, and lack of individuality (clones) and how that would slowly grind a person down until they no longer had any belief in themselves. I have no regard for Hugh Hefner and the life he lives and how he operates as a man and a human being. All I can say about that is he is a very troubled man. Thank you Holly for a great read and looking forward to reading the next book. I am glad Holly has finally found a true partner in life and has the family she was wanting for years.Read full review

The book gives you a whole other opinion and look inside the Playboy Mansion and the type of intimate details no one knows or would share. It leaves you with a different opinion of Hugh Hefner also, who seems to be a sweet elderly man, but Madison paints him as a manipulative, drama hungry villain. Good read!

Was an GND fan since the beginning and all the way to the end of the series. Holly represented Hollywood glam and I perceived a mutual connection due to her love of animals. Bridget was always the classic sweet lovable and intelligent "girl next door". Kendra the tomboy wild one. Loved them all for their unique individuality. This book was heart braking to say the least, with the utmost compassion for Holly's mental state. Holly clearly reflects a personality disorder regarding her perception of self. This is evidenced by her self mutilation (i.e. boob job that was done pre-Playboy and surgeries she "begged" for after her relationship began with Mr. Hefner). This type of disorder often stems from childhood neglect and/or abuse. Which caused me to raise an eyebrow over the fact that her family is hardly present in the TV series and minimal comments made about them in the book. Possibly, if Holly had not been so childish in her attempts to humiliate Mr. Hefner, the book would have been more believable - the book was well written. Holly only had one small paragraph about the animals at the mansion and criticized the smell of dogs running around freely - 9 or 10 of which her pets - yet didn't take it upon herself to do anything about it. There is an obvious shift in her persona regarding love of animals here. Though I don't believe in public feuds (deeply respect Bridget for staying out of it and not taking sides - staying friends with all) I do have to say Kendra was partially correct about this being a book of "revenge". Hats off to Bridget for staying consistently sweet after the show came to an end! Never had a favorite GND till now! If Bridget were to have another reality series, her's would be the only one I would watch. Bitching doesn't take a talent - consistency and kindness does.Read full review

I highly recommend this book for the Girls Next Door Fans!! It gives a peek of what went on through Holly’s perspective! Holly, Bridget and Kendra were my favorite Playmates! I always wondered what it was like living at the mansion. I thought those girls were so lucky to be one of Hugh’s girls. Now I think I’ll order Bridget and Kendra’s books to get their views!! This was an easy read if you’re a fan!!

The book is a great read. It answers up a lot of questions people have had about the Playboy Mansion, Hef, the parties, the playmates and Holly's look at her life inside the mansion. Very compelling and a good book.

I REALLY ENJOYED READING THIS BOOK! I LEARNED THINGS THAT I NEVER KNEW ABOUT! MS. MADISON WENT THRU A LOT AT THE PLAYBOY MANSION!! THAT PLACE DOESN'T SEEM INTERESTING AFTER ALL! SOUNDS LIKE IT NEEDS TO BE KNOCKED DOWN, AND RE-BUILT. IS FILTHY INSIDE, AND THE FURNITURE AND CARPETING ARE ALL OUTDATED! I LEARNED THE TRUTH ABOUT HUGH HEFNER ALSO! NOT AT ALL WHAT HE PORTRAYS IN PUBLIC! MY DAUGHTER BORROWED THE BOOK FROM ME, AND SHE REALLY ENJOYED IT ALSO! I AM SO HAPPY THAT MS. MADISON IS MARRIED NOW, AND HAPPY WITH HER FAMILY! SHE DESERVES HAPPINESS AND BE AT PEACE!! THANK YOU FOR A VERY INTERESTING STORY!! MRS. SERNA
