This DVD covers the plot of the first 2 Discworld books by Terry Pratchett – The Colour of Magic (1983) and The Light Fantastic (1986) If you have never actually read/heard a Discworld book or you are an avid follower this film can work for you all. If you are new to it all I would advice watching the introduction by Terry Pratchett himself before watching the film as it sets the scene without giving too much away. David Jason takes on the bubbling main character Rincewind brilliantly with both his trademark visual and auditory humour layering the character beautifully. The casting is great as all the characters are convincing and pleasurable to watch. Although this was made for TV rather than as a Hollywood blockbuster it certainly still packs a punch in terms of cinematography and ...
