  • slate in Cwm Gwyrfai

This is really a book for the officionado of the industrial histol of North Wales. If thats your subject then Alun John Rees and Gwynfor Pierce Jones's book is for you . it covers in detail the largely forgotten slate quarries in Cwm Gwyrfai and the various railways serving them culminating in the Welsh Highland Railway, now reborn as a tourist railway. The book has a description of all quarries in the area from mere scratchings to large productive units. with many maps and black and white photographs. If this is your interest then its well worth a read

  • Quarry enthusiasts.

Very informative, good description of the subject places . Would have liked more photographs , but it does make you want to visit the places yourself.
