This is a great classic series very much ahead of its time when the series was created.

Often considered to be the poor cousin to the first ground breaking season, this box set collection of all 17 episodes from season 2 of the original 60s Outer limits still manages to throw up a few Sci-Fi gems both to enjoy and to wonder at with equal measure. Most notably "Demon with the glass hand" won its then young writer Harlan Ellison a predigous Golden globe award, and starring Robert culp[a reacurring performer on the show]at his intense best"Soldier"has often been noted for its comparisons to "Terminater"and more than enough future milatary themed tales[Rouge trooper any one?]Also, there is the Star Trek connection with the episode"Cold hands warm heart"featuring a slightly younger William Shatner[involved in a space programe named project Vulcan no less!]and an early supporting role for Leanerd Nimoy in "I Robot" some distance and bearing no resembelence to the will smith movie of the same name and idea. For me,some of the more off the wall episodes tend to stay with me simply for the same fact that i cannot explain why "Plan Nine from outer space" is my all time fave movie?"Cry of sileance"Killer tumble weeds!!,"Wolf 359"A Planet grown in a bowl?and my absolute guilty pleasure in this box set"behold Eck!"about a 2 dimensional being that needs prescription glasses to get back to its own dimension!?I kid you not,Stan Lee of my beloved Marvel comics couldnt have dreamt that one up!If your bored with all the high tech cyber sci-fi and C.G.I.and want to harp back to another simpler age,or just complete your collection to go with the 1st box set,buy this today,it still has very valid entertainment value rarly found anywhere else these days. majikal2007.Read full review
It may be in black and white but the quality more than makes up for lack of colour. In the early sixties there was little science fiction on tv, but this was certainly one of the best series. Along with the Twilight Zone these series broke new ground in the genre and became classics which still deserve cult status today. The stories were thought-provoking, intelligent and diverse. They included many possibilities which the human race may encounter. Unlike other shows they had no set format or cast, which meant that all bets were off. The hero could wind up dead or worse, the enemy could triumph and our world could be destroyed. Anyone who likes to imagine "what if?" will find this series a rich source of entertainment.
Classic Sci-fi series. The stories are good if somewhat slow by today's standards and the effects appear very dated - you just have to ignore that! Some science fiction has become fact since the series was first aired. Fun to see some great character actors popping up in roles.
