    Living Beyond Disabilities

    Forrest Gump has become an enduring classic, suggesting that everyone has a place and use within society, starring: Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Gary Sinise, Mykelti Williamson and Sally Field with support cast. It is deemed as a comedy however there are poignant aspect referring to the Vietnam war allowing sobering reflection of a period of time many wish to forget on both sides. Jenny – recovering from years of drugs and abuse; she is his child love, and they do love each other in some way. Their time together blows hot and cold and they do come together eventually, Jenny with a young child Forest Gump Jr. Life can be unfair, 'like a box of chocolates' and Jenny is ill. They are married, but soon after Jenny dies due to her illness, Forrest brings up his son.

    A side from the story's entertainment value, the film is a fascinating run through modern American history from civil rights in the southern states, through the Vietnam war and it's attendant counter culture movements, the 'summer of love', up to the Reagan era of Yuppydom.
