    The Best Compact At This Price

    So lets get this out of the way, yes the Sony RX100 is a better overall compact, enthusiast camera, I'm not putting the XQ1 above it. The RX100 however is about $250 more than the XQ1 so in the sub $250 price range, this is the best compact enthusiast camera out there. The image quality is fantastic, the power-on and shutter response time are lightning quick. You have the RAW file format available as well as the ability to control exposure manually. The control ring is nice and fluid with just enough stiffness that you won't adjust it without meaning to do so. Shooting monochrome with this camera is a wonderful experience. Whatever algorithm Fuji uses to process monochrome leaves rich tones when you've got your exposure right. On the down side the zoom is a little short at 100mm and the ...
