    Anna Russell Sings? Still!

    Miss Russell was a phenomenon! A gifted musician with a wicked sense of humor, alas she, by her own admission, had a rather "tin" voice, albeit great technique. Her time at the Royal Academy of Music, made her "tin voice" into a "loud tin voice", by her own admission. Her greatest talent was in her ability to see the absurdities in the "serious music" of her time. Her analysis of Richard Wagner's RING CYCLE finally taught me how to understand it, and how to stand it. Miss Russell still lives, and in my car!
