    New improved design - much stronger

    Very well made. It has extra metal in the base where the two parts join. My old one fractured at this point because it didn't have the extra metal. One slight negative - the points are extremely sharp, almost dangerously so. I have filed them down so they still stick into the potatoes but won't stick into me.

    A kitchen accesory worth having

    Simple little item, but well worth having. Not only does it hold the potatoes in place, but also markedly reduces the time needed for cooking b=ecause the prongs conduct heat to tghe centre of the potato. Means you get a more even cook through the spud!

    Good quality item

    Well worth the money. I have used it a number of times. The only issue I have is that if you want to bake just one potato it is difficult to balance and falls over very easily. Other than that I am very happy with this product.

    Metal Potato Cooking Stand

    An Excellent item in it's simplicity! Takes 4 e.g. "Rosamund"- Reddish Owen Potatoes at one take. Make few small holes here and there (doesn't need to be too deep) before cooking after "impaling" them for about 1 hr in around 200 celsius degrees. When ready, make couple of cuts on top of potatoes with sharp knife, put little butter there and some salt. Serve with carlic- or curry-mayonnese-type of sauce and you're in heaven! - Remember to take the stand from the oven WITH oven-mitt (textile holder) because it's so hot it'll burn your hand otherwise. Put the stand to SOAK immediately with little washing liquid so the residues comes off more easily. Highly Recommended because it's so good IDEA and inexpensive!
