    Use in HS Science

    When I am going to be gone for several days for Conferences or Workshops, I use this movie with my Dual Enrolled Biology students (juniors/seniors). We discuss neurotransmitters and SSRI's just prior to discussing this movie and then I leave it with the SUB. I've made worksheets to go with (true story) movies like this one. Consequently, they have to follow along closely or they miss specific parts or terminology. Additionally, I print out an AWAKENINGS "fact or fiction" handout that can be found on the Web. It covers any errors as well as the real Dr. Oliver Sacks (deceased) and his work.

    Touching, powerful, and beautiful - one of a kind movie!

    This DVD was everything I remembered it to be. With star actors, a script written from a true story, and incredibly heart-warming, while at times, very sad scenes, Awakenings was powerful! It also leaves the viewer with tough questions to be answered about tough issues. I could not have been more pleased with this product!

    On the movie

    It shows the potential damaging side of dementia . The complication that pharmacy is supposed to solve something, but does it?I saw it with my father on a busy day of my father after his job as a doctor in the Emergency Room was done! It was supposed to give me motivation fir medical school as I was going to be on the way!
