Better than the original
I installed the grips on an old (1930's) S & W .38 Special Military & Police Model Square butt K-frame. It was easy to remove the old grips, one screw holds them on. The same with the new grips. The new grips are slit in the front, you open the grip and slide the pistol in then put the screw thru and tighten it down. This grip seems to be a huge improvement IMHO. The original grip slid in my hand and seemed too small for my hand (3 & 3/4" across my palm). This grip appears to be made of rubber and it allows a secure grip on the gun. It is not sticky but it will not easily slide on clothing for example. It would not be a good choice for concealed carry because it would catch on your clothes. The only fault I can find is that there is a small opening (slit) on the front side of the grip even with the screw tightened all the way down.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Pachmayr Presentation Grip S&W K Frame
This grip (it is one piece), works great. It gives a you a firm hold on the gun. It allows you to use a speed loader for reloading the cylinder, as the factory large wooden grips would not. Pachmayr is the way to go
Love these Pachmayr grips. The thin wooden stock grips make it feel like you are holding a broom handle instead of a pistol. The Pachmayr grips are hard rubber, so give is minimal but still feels soft. They are light, but there is still enough weight to make them feel substantial. Great grips

Poor Design
Unlike wood grips, Pachmayr does not have a metal piece on both sides to really tighten grips. One has to tighten them down to where the screw sticks out some on the other side. I bought wood grips, perfect! These-waste of money.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Doesn't fit snuggly !
They are too loose fitting, no matter how tight the grip screw is the grips wobble around on the frame, according to the packaging and the marking on the grip itself it is the correct one but doesn't fit well at all !Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
