OK but doesn't switch off when required. UPDATE it works as expected now after several weeks.
The unit controls 3 LED outside lights. It switches the lights on at dusk OK, but, as other reviewers have said, whatever I do I cannot get it to switch off at a specific time. The lights will stay on until dawn whatever the "off" setting, even after leaving for several days to "learn". UPDATE - This product has now started operating as expected - i.e. switching off at a time, set by the user, after several weeks. I installed it around the summer solstice. I am speculating that it took so long to adjust because the variation in day length is very small around this time of year and the internal learning algorithm has difficulty in determining whether day length is getting shorter or longer. I suspect the same would be true around the winter solstice 21st December.The unit controls 3 LED outside lights. It works! Will it last?
It’s difficult to rate this. It’s fiddly to program but the sensor does seem to learn and function. It does make a bit of noise not too bad you know it’s working, it asks to be aligned to the north this is not always possible. For now it is working well. I am not filled with confidence over its build quality as I have replaced only the head from my on all night sensor I will be keeping the old unit near by as a back up. Energy Saving
If you like your property illuminated on a night time these are great they are dusk till dawn with a timer that allows you to choose an interval of time through the night where the lights go off and when they come back on. I have set mine from to dusk to midnight and from 6 0’clock to dawn so they are only on when there is people moving around. Disappointing sensor
The product is quite large and bulky so you need to think about where you intend to install it,it also emits a lound hum when in use the instructions are vauge and inaccurate according to supplier's,it works as a normal photocell right out of the box but you have to leave it 24hrs before you can use the timer function of it (or five days according to supplier's) after my had been on for six days the timer function was still not working! and at about twice the price of a normal photocell it's not worth it couldn't recommend this item to anyone.The product is quite large and bulky so you need to think about where you intend to install it,it also emits a lound hum when in use the instructions are vauge and inaccurate according to supplier's,it works as a normal photocell right out of the box but you have to leave it 24hrs before you can use the timer function of it (or five days according to supplier's) after my had been on for six days the timer function was still not working! and at about twice the price of a normal photocell it's not worth it couldn't recommend this item to anyone.
