      A solution that works

      These shock arresters have finally fixed the water hammer problem that we've suffered since our water company re-lined the water main and increased the distribution pressure. I'd previously tried the pneumatic type but the diaphragm bursts with those. Also lengths of vertical pipe to trap an air bubble but the air slowly dissolves in the water so they have to be recharged. There are other piston types available but they are rated for use only up to 4 bar - our supply is 5 bar. These Caleffi units are rated for 10 bar use I've fitted two - one mid-way between the incoming supply and the kitchen and the other after the double-check valve in the feed pipe to the washing machine and dishwasher. No more water hammer.

      Good quality water hammer arrestors work well

      I've had a problem with water hammer since I moved into my new house, sometimes even caused by my neighbours turning their taps off! I'm currently refurbishing my bathroom & overhauling the plumbing, so I took the opportunity to install a couple of these under my new basin. I used a couple of soldered 1/2" female adaptors & equal-Ts to install. I had a problem with one of them leaking a little after screwing it on, so obviously the built-in seals aren't always 100% effective. But I easily solved this with some PTFE tape. These units have completely solved the problem- I don't get any water hammer no matter how abruptly I (or my neighbours!) turn off my taps. They are well made quality items and should give trouble-free operation for many years. Highly recommended.

      Very effective, quality product

      We had water hammer on all our outlets. A couple of these well positioned oround the system have completely solved the problem. Quality construction. Comes complete with sealing ring so no need for PTFE tape or sealant.
