Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best-selling in Amplifiers & Pre-Amps
If you are looking to have a superior surround sound system then separates are the way to go. I run a 7.2 system with additional Bass shakers inline with my 2 subs, so I use eight mono block amps (one amp per speaker). I’ve been using Marantz MA-700 for the last 14 years starting with two and worked my way up to eight so I can say they are very reliable. In my opinion you just can’t find a better amp for the price at (200-275) here on E-bay. The best comparison is Outlaw’s 2200 at double the price (also a solid amp). Most people don’t realize their receiver is a single amp trying to push all channels at the same time, thus creating a lot of heat (that’s tough on connector ends that are soldered). At higher volumes (movie explosions) you get distortion. In other words your working life of that receiver is diminished. Mono blocks take the work load off that single amp and boosts the power to a pure level. Marantz MA-700 mono blocks are well worth the investment if you want that true movie theater experience.Read full review
pros..strong enough to put the Polk Audio Rts9 speakers thought their paces. 200 plus watts cons...hard to find...getting older now, will have to be refurbished at some point. I got lucky...seeing as they are older mono amps...hard to find in good condition...but still worth it, even if you have to invest another $100 each to refurbish

Typically great Marantz product with solid power to drive any speaker as a dedicated amp or it can be used to drive an in-wall sub.

These amps have been around for quite some time. Still very good and people still look for the higher power mono amps like myself. Wish i could find more of this kind
