I've tried GPM steel drive axles ($80 set), i've tried Traxxas steel drive axles ($69 set) neither one has lasted as long as the stock plastic ones ($36 set).

I upgraded to the 3.3 axles for my classic .15 tmaxx. I had to buy rpm upper and lower control arms and steering knuckles to complete it. The axles are beefy and i dont think there is a need for anything better
