Quality & Good Price
My $200 GGG Bipod had served me for a long time but the cant screw stripped and I needed to get a new bipod. I didn't want to pay $200 for another GGG (plus I felt that the size of the tightening screws on the GGG were a little small - especially when you were wearing gloves). I found the Shooter Ridge Deluxe Bi-Pod on eBay and it had several of the points I was looking for including: - canter ability - longer extension capability than the GGG (the GGG went to 10.5" and this one goes to 13") - metal construction - better price than the GGG I got all these in this Shooters Ridge bi-pod and I was pleased to find that in addition to the side-to-side cant ability, the central post allows for full swivel capabilities. Most surprising was the ease of extending the legs. I was concerned ... My $200 GGG Bipod had served me for a long time but the cant screw stripped and I needed to get a new bipod. I found the Shooter Ridge Deluxe Bi-Pod on eBay and it had several of the points I was looking for including: - canter ability - longer extension capability than the GGG (the GGG went to 10.5" and this one goes to 13") - metal construction - better price than the GGG I got all these in this Shooters Ridge bi-pod and I was pleased to find that in addition to the side-to-side cant ability, the central post allows for full swivel capabilities. Most surprising was the ease of extending the legs. I was concerned that without a latch or level style closure it would be too time consuming to make leg length adjustments. As it turns out the legs extend with a very simple, 1/4 turn twist. Also, the springs and locking mechanism for going from folded to deployed positions are good and tight with sufficient tension to hold the legs open while shooting. If I had to list any concerns it would be just this one: at full extension on the legs, there is a bit more "play" in the stability than I would like to see.
