About this product

Product Information

Though HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER has the look of a traditional, multi-camera sitcom, this comedy has all the fun and smarts of fellow critical darlings 30 ROCK and ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. Told via a giant flashback, the twist-filled series is narrated from the perspective of Ted Mosby in the year 2030 as he tells his daughter and son how he met their mother more than 20 years ago. Young Ted (Josh Radnor) is inspired by the romance of his roommate Marshall (FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL's Jason Segel) and his fiancée Lily (BUFFY's Alyson Hannigan), and he decides to embark on his own search for love. Aided in his quest by wingman Barney "Have you met Ted?" Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris), Ted looks all over New York City for the future Mrs. Mosby. Season two finds him happily coupled with Canadian beauty--and commitment-phobe--Robin (Cobie Smulders), and it's Marshall and Lily who suddenly aren't so sure of their future. The second season also reveals the secrets of Barney's awesome apartment in "World's Greatest Couple," and Robin's mysterious--and hilarious--past is uncovered in fan favorite "Slap Bet." This release includes every legendary episode of the Emmy-winning show's second season.

  • More story, more laughs.

(Before I begin, if you haven't watched Season One stop reading this, because there will be spoilers.) Season Two picks up literally where Season One leaves off like most live action situation comedies do. The focus on the first half of the season focuses on Marshall and Lily being apart and how they deal with being apart. The second half deals with Ted and Robin realizing that they do love each other but a lot of times that isn't enough. This season while having funny episodes has a lot more continuing arcs and storylines which is to be expected for a series in its second season. Once again, the creators of How I met your Mother (Carter Bays and Craig Thomas) show their undying love for Joss Whedon's work. (The creator of Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Firefly) by bringing in ...

  • if you loved the first season you'll love this also

Ted, Marshall, Lily, Robin and Barney. TV's quirkiest set of friends since NBC's Friends are back with 22 more sensational episodes in How I Met Your Mother - Season Two. Following the Season One finale breakup of Marshall and Lily which resulted in Lily leaving for San Francisco on an art internship, leaving Marshall emotionally lost, Season Two opens with the gang helping Marshall cope with the void left by his "Lilypad" which, of course, leads to hilarious situations. Marshall unknowingly "dating" his friend from law school, Brad, who also recently broke up with his girlfriend in "World's Greatest Couple" comes to mind. Also returning for Season Two is director Pamela D. Fryman, who again guides the episodes (19 of 22) with her pitch perfect direction. As with Season One, all 22 ...

  • Delightful show!

As a new fan of the show, I was surprised at how quickly I fell in love with it. The characters are all funny and sweet and all of their stories fit well together. Akin to sitcoms like Friends, How I Met Your Mother is a wonderful show that touches on real life situations that make you connect to the characters even more. While it's certainly not for everyone, I'd highly recommend to anyone that they give this show a shot!

  • The FUNNIEST show on television

Disreguard the stupid title of How I Met Your Mother - stupid name, but seriously the FUNNIEST show on tv. The writing is hilarious and the actors really deliver. It is almost Seinfeld-like how the phrases from the show can now be used in daily life (slap bet, the yips, Swarley). If you have never seen this show, you are missing out. I highly recommend it.

  • Hilarious!!!

I love this series. They are funny, short, non-conservative, but not offensive episodes... if you are open-minded. The crew is fantastic and they absolutely captivate you! It is a great series with episodes that are perfect to relax after a day's work. They are short, absolutely hilarious and gives you a funny yet good perspective of the every-day, outstanding events in life and friendship.
