There is nothing like the sound of a Gretsch Filtertron pickup. They are differently wound to the Gibson PAF's and in my opinion are a much better sound. I fitted these to a 335 style guitar and it greatly improved the sound over the PAF's. At around 4.7k for a standard Filterton, they are in the Stratocaster vintage pickup output range. These pickup in this form as in the picture cannot be fitted to a Humbucker equipped guitar unless you either 1. Buy the TV Jones Filtertrons and choose 'English mount' option which will mean they are supplied ready to fit, or as I have done 2. make up an adapter bar for under the pickup you screw through the screw holes on the cover to a bar and drill the mounting rings and thread the bar and add springs. Be aware that the string alignment spacing on Neck pickups is narrower than for the bridge for the Filtertron. The Bridge has a higher output slightly than the neck to compensate for the often higher string height.Read full review

Have not used it yet, but if it is like all other NEW Gretsch products, it's a 5 star, no doubt!
