    Steel Seal, I’m impressed

I had serious doubts whether this would work, but with what appeared to be a head gasket issue and not being in a financial position to get a repair or change my car I thought it was worth a try! However I followed the instructions and used the product it has stopped the loss of coolant fluid and stopped the engine overheating as well. I have driven over 600 miles now since using this, it really does seem to be doing exactly as the manufacturer claims! Quite amazing!

Can't tell if it has worked

Used it in my diesel range rover and it has seemed to cause more problems than it fixed. The car had a new radiator a few months ago and all the coolant was changed. A week after putting the steel seal in the radiator didn't seem to be working properly. Took it off to find the whole thing bunged up with an opaque jelly like substance, had to flush out the entire cooling system and heater matrix. The car does now run a bit better but is still pressurising the cooling system. Looks like I will have to bite the bullet and get the head off the car, no such thing as a quick fix unfortunately.

  • Not The Miracle Cure It's Made Out To Be - But Helps Considerably - 7/10

Has made a difference, but I still need to top up the coolant every few days on just small journeys, it can't be used with RED ANTI-FREEZE, 2 or 3 times more expensive than similar products. I think I should have used 2 of HYPER SUPER SEAL (cheaper copper based), and may still do if this doesn't stop the coolant leak. However, it is amazing that a bottle of liquid can almost repair a leaking head gasket that would cost £1000++ to change! But I have no idea how long this will last especially when Anti-Freeze added (NOT RED) come the cold weather. I rate it 7/10 as it is a lot more expensive than similar products. Would be 9/10 if £10 cheaper!

  • Its like cake making

As my title .. Make sure you fully flush the system no matter how clean or dirty good preparation is the key to any task. If system was flushed add product first then top up with coolent and bleed system to your Haynes manual if you find it hard to bleed make your filler hole higher than the heating pipes by using plastic bottle with bottom cut off and place in either rad or coolent expansion tank then top up with are valves removed till coolent runs free then replace. Make sure you get the engine to running temp even if you have to hold the revs for a few minutes this could take an hour THEN THIS IS IMPORTANT Let car tick over for another 30 to 45 mins. This will make the steel seal do its job properly then switch the car off and leave to cool down to cold . Before you restart the car ...

  • Didn't work for me

Followed the procedure and added the mixture to the coolant system in my vehicle, a Peugeot 806 with 120000 miles on the Clock. The system was being pressurised by just a small amount but decided to use this to see if it would help. Didn't work for me but possibly if you've got a really small leak or pressurisation it may help but I would not recommend it.
