Bought this set primarily for drilling Stainless Steel but thought I'd try them out on something easier first. Tried 5.5 mm and 6 mm diameters to enlarge a pilot hole through a piece of bronze only 12 mm thick. I was using a DeWalt cordless drill and controlling the speed and feed carefully. To my astonishment, both drills snapped where the plain shank meets the fluting. I have never in my life snapped drills of this size (I've been using drills for more than 40 years) - yes, I may have bent one or two but never snapped any but the smallest diameters. So I can only conclude that these are very poor quality or there is a manufacturing fault. The case may be metal but here is gaping hole in the top (so you can see there are drills inside?) which allows the smaller drills to come out ... best drills I have ever bought
i had to drill through a solid stailess shaft. not something i have ever done before or expect to do again. Nothing worked. i wasted lots of money on drills. then i came across these affordable HSS set and it was night and day. I was well chuffed. job done and drills still sharp.
