  • Basic Basic Basic...

I had bought this book all excited after quick look on the table of content. All good bullet points but when red it it left me with tons of questions. Its barely touches the subject and the knowledge that it is giving you is is insufficient to write a useful code. A bit disappointing but.... cheap. Sorry... I would not buy it for the second time.

  • Looking to getting started with Python programming - this wont help much

I looked forward to reading this book but very rapidly became very disappointed. The first 24 pages that's 15% of the book taught me absolutely nothing as it is a regurgitation of Raspberry Pi setup information widely available on the internet. The book title says programming not setup!!! The book then fell into the trap so many from USA do. First it treats the reader like a mentally retarded 4 year old, then suddenly realises space is running out and rushes the most important bits to such an extent that only an experienced programmer would understand. The author is very capable as Chapters 3&4 reveal - just a shame about the rest of the book.

  • A good introduction to programming for the Raspberry enthusiast

Excellent book, written by a knowledgeable enthusiast. And as such it does assume the reader has some knowledge of computing. It does not make it very clear how to start for the first time. I have only had the book a few weeks and have been working through the Python exercises and found them easy to follow. The photos refer to the Model B, which should be updated to the Model B+ in the next edition
