Nicotine gum was the only help to stop which actually worked for me. If used as per instructions everything is fine but in my case, I was excessive (as I was when smoking) and found a need to chew all the time. Fortunately I Googled, looking for more information as to side effects etc. and decided it was time to pack in chewing. Two weeks ago now, I gave up nicotine gum and started with normal peppermint gum instead. Absolutely no problem, or craving, a lower blood pressure and I feel fine. I would definitely recommend nicotine gum as a means to stop smoking but at the same time try using it with common sense and don't end up swapping one addiction for another.Nicotine gum was the only help to stop which actually worked for me.
