    D'Addario Nickel Electric guitar strings Vs. Ernie Ball Slinky

    Recently bought a Tele with an older set of D'Addario's on it. I'd never used them (been an Ernie Ball man since the 80's) and thought I'd give 3 identical sets (I use 9-46 EB's) a try on different guitars (Tele, Strat, LP). I have to admit that decades of EB use must taint my opinion, which is that the D'A's seem less lively sounding dynamically. They do feel more stable somehow when flat-picking... and I like that same sense of 'stability' when finger picking individual chord notes around the first 4 frets. Power chords have a better mid-range tonality perhaps. Glad I tried them, but it takes me months to come to any great conclusion.... will continue to be open minded (while I keep Ernie Ball's on my others).

    Great value for three sets of hybrid strings

    Three sets of strings for one dollar more than a single set - awesome value. This hybrid package is for players that like light 9 strings for solo work, but find the lower strings too easy to bend out of tune playing power chords.

    D'addario EXL 125

    Lifelong user of D'Addario Strings here - have tried many other brands but I always come back to D'addario. I especially like this set because of the heavy bottoms, strings four five and six. It gives a little added substance to the set which I really like and also they seem to stay in tune a little better than the regular nines. I'm enjoying this set and hope you do too

    Great set of hybrid strings

    I was having problems with string buzz on bass strings using .009 gauge set during setup on a strat. A heavier string will all lower string height without buzz. By using the EXL125 set which gives .009 gauge on tremble strings and .010 gauge on bass, it worked perfect for me.
