Fits Falcon Surge E-bike
The OE (Chinese manufacture) battery on my partner's Falcon Surge folding E-bike stopped taking charge after less than 24 months use (and limited use at that), the original charger was putting out the specified 42 volts but the LED indicator would show green as soon as it was connected, therefore there was some internal failure in the battery pack (the built in charge indicator was only registering 20% and it was not enough to power the hub motor of the bike sufficiently). I looked online at how much it would cost to refurbish the battery pack in the UK but for the rating of the battery (36v / 10ah) this was going to easily be in excess of £400, for a bike that cost £900 new! Yes the cells used to refurbish it may have genuinely been premium Samsung or whatever but it wasn't really a value for money option. Although this model of battery wasn't listed in the compatibility chart as being for the Falcon Surge, it looked visually identical and with the same output rating, the dimensions listed also seemed about right. The thing that sealed it was that somebody on ebay had a new battery pack which was a genuine replacement also made by the same manufacturer (YOSE power), so it looked like it should fit and basically be as good as the genuine replacement for less money. For less than £150 (with a charger included as well) it was worth a go. Pleased to report that it fitted without issue, and after charging the bike powered up with no issue and the handlebar switch showed full power. Time will tell if this battery lasts any longer than the failed original (which was made by a different Chinese company to YOSE power), but for the money, if your battery pack fails then this is about as cost effective a replacement that you'll find and if the OE manufacturer of the bike is also supplying YOSE batteries as genuine replacements then it's as good as you'll get bar spending hundreds for a refurb that may or may not give better performance and a longer service life.
