Stone is seductive
Jesse Stone has some annoying habits, and unfortunate character flaws. Having said that, he is a detective I would want working for me. I would also hang out with him, expecting that the recipe for our conversations would include few words and long times of silence. Hallmark bleeps the saltier language, and personally, I could do without the sexual encounters. For that reason, I'm a bit surprised the Hallmark channel airs the Stone series. Columbo did alright keeping his pants on. Also, this series might be dangerous for alcoholics, and for those with any addiction to substances they might use to deal with quietness or loneliness. Nevertheless, most of his time is devoted to step-by-step police work solving the serious crimes of each episode while simultaneously lending life-altering ... "I've been doing this job a long time. I'm good at it." This is one of Jesse's longer sentences. Jesse, tough and kind to dogs, is a man of few words. Women, mostly younger, throw themselves at him in the small New England town of Paradise, where he moves from big L.A. to be chief of police. (The last of the three detail this move; I would play it first.) The stories are a bit slow, never over-telling the audience, engaging, lots of crimes to be solved and affairs to be uncovered. The background piano is haunting. Molly, played by Viola Davis, is my favorite character, but I enjoyed them all and the cold, sparse atmosphere of them all."I've been doing this job a long time. Great Package at a Great Price
Love being able to binge-watch good material. Tom Selleck is his usual entertaining, humble self. Good clean material. Revision: One cannot binge-watch this collection as it is. The movies are all out of order. Disk 1 has 5, then 1; disk 2 has 3, then 6; disk 3 has 8, then 7; disk 4 has 2, then 4; disk 5 has 9. Why on earth would they do that??

Compelling stories
These are very good movies..be sure to watch them in the right order. Night Passage is first, then Stone Cold and Death in Paradise. Could have done without the very sad parts. But overall, they are certainly worth watching.
