    Better than expected

    Even though it feels a little cheap at first due to the plastic chrome ring, once it's in your dashboard and set it's actually a good looking clock. I was also pleasantly surprised when I connected it up to find it has a modern mechanism in it. It uses a stepper motor and the minute hand only advances once every minute. Would think this might help the mechanism last longer as it's not constantly running like the old Smiths clocks used to. I've had it running now for 2 weeks and it's keeping perfect time.

    Disappointed

    It is a Smith "type" clock, not a genuine Smith's clock, so yes it's cheaper, but it looks cheaper. The hands are bright white and look very, very cheap. The construction is questionable - very flimsy. I thought it would be worth the lower price, but would never buy another Smith's "type" gauge.

    Nice looking clock in the classic style.

    Seems to be a decent quality clock that has the old Smiths style. A bit pricey, but hopefully will work for longer than the originals did.
