Skies haven't been clear enough to use it much yet but it gives a clear, detailed view of our moon and two of Jupiter's moons can be seen with it. It took nearly two hours for my husband to set up and he said the instructions weren't as clear as they could be, but it wasn't a problem for him with a background in engineering and an interest in time pieces and astronomy.

  • Well worth a "look"...(yes! pun intended! Lol)

Great telescope for the money, whether purchased new full price, or used but great condition. Once you see your first planet, there's no going back...A**********

  • Good for the price.

A good basic scope that needed a little tweaking with a new Celestron 8mm-25mm lens, a Telrad finder and a Skywatcher R.A. Economy Motor Drive. Now a clear night to use the thing would be handy.

  • Just the job

Got this as my first starter telescope and really looking forward to using it on clear nights. Very easy to set up. Would recommend to anyone.

  • Stargazing heaven!

A brilliant product, very good quality and easy to use, in the first week we have had amazing views of the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn.

  • Beware of spherically figured telescopes.

Although these long focal ratio scopes give passable results they are nothing like as pin sharp as a parabolic telescope would be. Even long focus spherical telescopes give slightly blurry image quality and should be avoided. As a telescope dealler I would never stock spherical telescopes! SkyWatcher do excellent telescopes with parabolic mirrors. The 130P and 150P models are far superior to the 130x 900 and any of the 114mm versions. Do yourself a favour and get a parabolic Newtonian.
