Required for emg upgrade
Im gonna save you alot of trouble... I own a Dean mlx and wanted to upgrade my pickups to EMG 81/85. I ordered the Zakk Wilde solderless set with the short stem pots. Everything fit perfectly, and required no extra routing for battery accomodation. But I encountered 2 issues which may or may not be unique to Dean guitars. 1. The wiring harness for the imput jack was too short. ( I soldered in an extension) 2. I could not switch pick ups. It was either the neck pick up or both. Dean uses a 3 way switch that switches between neck/bridge or both pickups. After trying a myriad of wiring combinations, and referring to instructions and the ever wise google search, I could not get the stock switch to work properly. The switch works identicle to the factory switch. The instructions say its possible that the switch may work in reverse (which happened to me) but also gives instructions for a simple fix to maintain a factory setup. All and all, what can I say. It's a switch, but clearly, it is required to finish up your EMG upgrade. I recommend this product to anyone planning to up grade to EMG pickups. Save yourself the frustration spend $30 and order it with your 81/85 set, you wont regret it.

EMG PLUG and PLAY SYSTEMS is a great and simple way to wire a guitar or bass.
EMG's Plug and play system really simplifies guitar wiring. BUT I wish they furnish more detailed schematics of the inner workings that are hidden behind the plugs. Also, it would be nice to split the humbuckers, reverse polarity, etc.

Great product love it
It is the first time that I have used one of these EMG 3 position switches on my guitar and so far it is working very well . I like that it has the solderless connectors makes it even easier to install its working great . I really like it. Besides EMG makes some great products.

EMG solderless 3-way Pickup Selector
Its a great value...far cheaper than the "horizontal" solderless 3-position switch, and works every bit as well while taking up less space. Pretty sure this switch renders the vertical, les paul one obsolete as well, fitting any sg, lespaul, or explorer, etc. Score! Also def. quieter than a stock gibson toggle
