Not an Exciter.
Please I love Depeche Mode with a real passion. They are the greatest band of my generation BUT........ This DVD is awful. Firstly it was not the greatest of DM tours if we have to be honest. Secondly the sound mix is very poor with Dave far to high in the mix and at times sounds its in mono. Finaly the visuals are sparce and did not capture the energy of a DM show. In conclusion if you love DM stick with 101.... DEVOTIONAL... TOURING THE ANGEL... TOURING THE UNIVERSE or LIVE IN BERLIN and give this lame excuse of a show a wide berthPlease I love Depeche Mode with a real passion. They are the greatest band of my generation BUT........ Fantastic view
For a fan, this DVD is absolutely fantastic. And it comes with loads of bonus material, which is excellent, especially the band's visual artist/photographer Anton Corbijn, who is no doubt the most talented graphic artist working today. The concert is very much a visual experience with the stunning imagery that Corbijn provides for Depeche Mode. And of course you get the music as well... so this is very much a double bonus. You get an absolutely stunning visual performance and the great music of Depeche Mode. I like the development that the group have gone through from the early days rigtht up till today. This performance is from 2001 when they released "Exciter". It may have been a less succesful album in commercial terms, but I love the album. The highlights musically in this DVD is ... Double DVD with loads of extra material and interviews with band members and crew. One big thing missing is the track "I feel loved" the first single from the touring album, which obviously doesn't appear on this tour??? Filmed by Anton Corbijn it's an extravaganza experience through D.M.'s endless backcatalogue... This is deffently a must for every D.M. fan... TIP!
