    A simpler, bygone form

    This DVD features some of the now-legendary sports television series, "Home Run Derby", which was filmed at the Los Angeles version of Wrigley Field, and it doesn't disappoint. The host of the show, Mark Scott, made me feel at ease, as do the stars of Major League Baseball of that day. This is a simpler, bygone form of sports entertainment, and it shows: The star players were doing their best to compete, and the competition went very well - so well, in fact, that I have become a fan of this series. True, the cash prizes may have been small by today's standards, but this was a competition where the money didn't matter, and the star players were doing this because these men loved their sport.     Excellent example of sportsmanship from the past.

    Any young ball player, young sports card collectors & a part of (affordable) American History. Legends in the sport of baseball that can actually be seen & admired. A great conversation piece, a excellent example of “old school” sportsmanship.
