A Quality British made tow-bar
I bought this PCT tow-bar for my Hyundai iLoad and I was very impressed with the quality of its manufacture. Plus it is made in Britain. It comes supplied with all the fixings that you will need as well as the wiring kit for the trailer lighting socket. I advise you to read the instruction sheet several times to make sure you understand what you need to do and you are familiar with where all the bolts go. It is a good idea to identify the which bolts go where. The fine threaded bolts screw vertically up in to the captive threads in the chassis. It is a good idea to spray some WD40 in to these threaded holes and gently wind the bolts in before you start, that way you make sure that the thread is clear and free running before you offer up the tow-bar. I had one thread that I couldn't get the ... I bought this PCT tow-bar for my Hyundai iLoad and I was very impressed with the quality of its manufacture. Plus it is made in Britain. I had one thread that I couldn't get the bolt started, I tried the bolt in another threaded hole and it was ok, so it was the thread in the chassis that needed clearing, I used a M12 fine tap and carefully wound the tap through the tight thread, to clear the damage. Before I started any work, I had jacked up the rear of the van and used heavy axle stands under the rear axle for safety. You will have to remove the spare wheel and carrier to give you the freedom to fit the tow-bar. The spare wheel carrier will fit back in to the same space when the tow-bar is in place. This PCT tow-bar is rather heavy so you will need someone to help you lift it up and fit it in to place. Have all the bolts ready to slide them in to their respective holes. Remember to feed the horizontal bolts that go through the chassis from the middle outwards, otherwise they will stick out in to the spare wheel void and obstruct the spare wheel from being stowed away. It is a good idea to have at least 2 large screwdrivers or similar levers handy because the PCT tow-bar is such a sung fit that it needs that additional help to get it to place. Once I had all the bolts loosely in place, I followed the instruction sheet and made sure everything was in the correct place and then tightened up each bolt up using a torque wrench to the setting recommended. The wiring is fairly straightforward, but if you are not confident in your ability to do this, then seek help and advice of someone who does. I have already used this tow-bar several times and it is perfect for the job.
