About this product

Product Information

Drawing on George Harrison's personal archive of photographs, letters, diaries, and memorabilia, Olivia Harrison reveals the arc of his life, from his guitar-obsessed boyhood in Liverpool, to the astonishment of the Beatles years, to his days as an independent musician and bohemian squire. Here too is the record of Harrison's lifelong commitment to Indian music, and his adventures as a movie producer, Travelling Wilbury, and Formula One racing fan. This book is filled with stories and reminiscences from Harrison's friends, including Eric Clapton, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idol, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and many, many others. Among its previously unpublished riches are photographs by Harrison himself beginning in the mid-1960s. It is a rich tribute to a man who died far too young, but who touched the lives of millions.

  • A Fascinating Look into the Life of the Quiet Beatle

I thoroughly enjoyed this documentary/biography/tribute to the very talented George Harrison. Through film clips and anecdotes from his days as a young Beatle and later as a solo artist, father, husband, bandmate, and friend , we learn of George's many attributes as well as a few of his weaknesses - all of which made him an extraordinary man who will not be forgotten. This film will be enjoyed by any fan of George Harrison as well as anyone who has a keen interest in the early days of rock and roll.

  • Bringing the Dark Horse into the Inner Light

As a Beatles fan and a fan of George Harrison, this book (and the accompanying film by Martin Scorsese) has been a long time coming. It reveals so much about George that has never been revealed before. It's a fascinating glimpse into the life of a man who lived a life very much worth remembering.

  • George Harrison in his own words and pictures

This is a beautiful book and the pictures are amazing! The quotes from George Harrison and his band mates (Beatles) when they were young makes for nostalgic reading. Very enjoyable and well worth the purchase price.

  • An excellent Tribute to George Harrison.

I bought this book for my husband as a birthday gift. He was overwhelmed by all the pictures and information that went in to this book. He went through it cover to cover non stop and loved every minute. George was a beloved Beatle and this tribute by his wife is one of the best books by far honoring this mans life. He was a great person who everyone loved from the moment he entered their lives. No one could possibly be disappointed in this book.
