Setting of the mainshaft end play is with individual steel shims but without a gasket, consequently the area is prone to leakage. I applied this gasket spray on each shim and reassembled. The setting is unaffected by the spray as the application is very thin. So far there doesn't appear to be any leakage.

Working on 1930’s engine and head gasket kept weeping despite multiple retorques etc, thought we were going to have to dump the engine……… stripped again, cleaned everything down with solvent and used this spray, few coats each side of the head gasket and refitted. All good, no more weeping, everything sealed and very confident of outcome, simple and brilliant product!
