It does its function, but one of its ingredients is liquid paraffin, a mineral oil derived from Petroleum, many cosmetics use it because it softens the skin. To achieve this effect of soft and hydrated skin, it has to plug the pores and prevent perspiration, which causes the accumulation of toxins. The only way to eliminate it is through the cleansing, which produces a rebound effect of dryness when it is removed. In the long run they penetrate the deep layers of the skin, and can cause damage.
