Detailed account of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve in the 20th Century.
A very detailed account of the RNVR's frontline services during the 20th Century, with particular detail about its defences in London and the Thames Estuary. I grew up from around the corner of the RNVR Officers' Club, where my father was the Secretary during the 1950s. Met many RNVR stalwarts as a child. Although I have read most of the book so far, there seems to be no mention of the Hill Street club. Nevertheless HMS President is well-mentioned. There is no other comparable book at present,; from this book I gained a fuller picture of the RNVR's activities all over the world and London.A very detailed account of the RNVR's frontline services during the 20th Century, with particular detail about its defences in London and the Thames Estuary.
