Activision and Disney have joined forces to create a skateboarding game targeted specifically at children ages 6 to 14. Using the engine from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure takes players through such famous locales as Pride Rock, Pizza Planet, and Tarzan's Treehouse as they guide characters from films The Lion King, Toy Story 2, and Tarzan. Modes of play include Adventure and split-screen Multiplayer. Players can also design their own likeness using the Create-A-Skater option.<br><br>Four characters from each film are represented, including Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Tarzan, Terk, Simba, and Rafiki. Players can also choose from a group of ten real-life skaters (ages 6 to 14) who were winners of a nationwide casting call sponsored by Activision. The Create-A-Skater option lets players customize nearly every facet of their onscreen counterpart, including hair color, clothing, shoes, helmet, board, and hairstyle. Once a character is selected, players will be able to perform such popular moves as flip tricks, grabs, grinds, manuals, and a variety of other stunts. <br><br>Adventure mode is the heart of the game, where players interact with movie characters and accomplish a wide assortment of goals throughout nine levels inspired by all three films. Levels are accessed from a real-world venue named Olliewood, which features its own set of objectives. Since many of the featured settings are not conducive to "traditional" skateboarding, players will be able to guide characters atop modified boards in the shape of bamboo rafts, frying pans, and more. In addition to completing objectives, players will also solve puzzles, uncover secret areas, and find a variety of items to collect on each level. Xbox-specific features include HDTV and Dolby Digital support as well as the ability to import songs and save them on the hard drive.

The book was described in new condition. The book I received had a $3.99 goodwill sticker on the back cover along with dog ears, folded pages throughout the back portion of the book. The access codes were sealed as described but the book condition was erroneous. The seller accepted my return, however, I had to go thru return process and refund process, shipping it back, printing a label, while reordering another book from a different seller this time from Amazon, its just easier .

    Extreme Skate Adventure-Great Game for Yongsters

    All of the kids who have played this game LOVE it. I got it for one of my daughter's friends for his 7th birthday because he always wanted to play the demo that I had of it. Of course buying it used, we had to play it and check it out to make sure it was ok. My daughter loved it (6 yrs old), her two other friends loved it too (8 & 10). I think it is a good kids game because it is not too hard. Points are easy to get and combos are easy to combine. Too many games these days are WAY to hard for the youngsters, but this one is just right. The kids love all of the characters and locations as well as the ability to create their own skaters. It would have been nice for any character to work on any location, but characters only work in their own locations. Great game though!

    Not Impressed

    Great game for kids of all ages

    I bought this as a replacement for the game itself. We had puchased the game originally several years ago for our son. He played it so often that the game just wore out! I think it is easy for kids of all gaming ability. there are numerous levels and some are more easily mastered than others giving you varying levels of play. I think the first time he played it he was about five and is nine now. The music is also enjoyable. You are able to create your own caracter, making it a fun game for his little sister as well. in a world of very technical and sometimes inappropriate games for children this game is a must have!
