What I love most about the Paolini International version of Eragon is the sense of originality that it possesses. The way to identify one is by the dragon eye cover as the later version has a blue dragon on the cover. The back cover has a black and white drawing/illustration of the teenage author at the bottom. [Not photo] The synopsis which appears on the back cover is: Gifted only with an ancient red sword, the brilliant-blue dragon Saphira, and advice from the old storyteller Brom, the young man Eragon is entangled in an intricate tapestry of destiny, magic, ancient glory, and love. His saga carries readers through a fantastical land filled with beauty and brooding danger as he flees the tyrannical king, Galbatorix. A mysterious elven woman haunts Eragon’s dreams while an ancient ... What I love most about the Paolini International version of Eragon is the sense of originality that it possesses. Printed in the U.S.A. www.factsource.com This version has an extra 20,000 word compared to the Knopf version. In the other word, the unabridged version. This was the very first true printing of Eragon. The author, Christopher Paolini self-promoted it by doing small book signings at school libraries. An estimated 10,000 of these books were printed & most are sold to the residents of Montana, the author's hometown. With that said, finding the book in an excellent condition is near to impossible. Most libraries have replaced their own copies with the Knopf version as the original version is most likely to be stolen & then sold at a higher price. The copyright for the Inheritance Trilogy was then sold at an estimated $400,000 to Random House. On August 2003, Random House has released the hardcover version of Eragon. FOX 2000 has bought the copyrights to the Eragon movie. Therefore, the Paolini International version is valued at a far higher price than the first edition of Knopf. An estimated of 100,000 copies of the hardcover version were printed by Knopf publishing house. With a film on the way, the prices of that Paolini International Eragon are expected to soar high. The 100 million budget movie stars newcomer Edward Speleers as Eragon, Jeremy Irons as Brom, Joss Stone as Angela, John Malkovich as King Galbatorix and also Sienna Guillory as Arya. The movie will be in cinemas at the United States by 15 December 2006. An excellent conditioned book may be sold at an approximately $600-$1200, depending whether it’s inscribed to someone, a dedication & doodling. While a fairly good conditioned may go from $500-$620. Usually, a library copy will go lesser than the normal even if it’s in a good/acceptable condition. The prices depend on the market & the demands of it. If bidding involves many book dealers or professional collectors expect the price to go unusually high. In these cases, sniping service is highly reliable though it may be risky at times. Prices are also expected to soar high as the movie is approaching.

Incredible deal on a fantastic book!
This book is in fantastic condition! There were a few scratches on the cover which were nearly invisible except under certain lighting so I can hardly tell they’re there most of the time. Most of the listings I see for the self published version of this book go for several hundred bucks so this was a STEAL at $150, especially for the condition it’s in. Huge fan, 10/10
