I bought this book with the intent on learning more about the New Jersey people's role in the American Revolution. With ancestors living there during this time, I wanted to get a better idea what the people of that area were going through. This book, written by historian, Alfred Hoyt Bill, contains a wealth of information, although it is only 106 pages in length. It shows the effect of the War on the New Jersey citizens by citing many particular events. It mostly shows in great detail the military strategies of both the Continental Army and England's Generals and events that took place in the War for our American freedom. New Jersey, being between British-occupied New York and Philadelphia, was, indeed, ground zero to the War. You also get a better picture of the struggle between Patriot citizens and those Loyal to the Crown in New Jersey. I better stop-I don't want to give too much away! This is a must-read for any American Revolution buff or one interested in military strategies of that period. Again, there is a wealth of information in this small work, and you may find yourself reading it a second time! Happy Reading! JeffRead full review
