Bought to install in an 80's VW, to partner upgraded factory size 4x6 speakers by JBL and Kenwood head unit. Before this unit the bass when driving was almost inaudible. Installed at the front, this provides bass response at least comparable or better than F30 BMW 3 series with under seat woofers, certainly more volume. Build quality is excellent, feels like a very solid piece of equipment and well finished, no buzz or rattles. Installation is very easy with supplied harness though if using low level RCA outputs (red and white sockets) you need to buy an appropriate RCA cable separately. Cannot fault sound quality and very easy to dial in to balance with existing full range speakers with the supplied remote control though control is a bit cheap feeling and cable is long and bulky. Would be good to be able to set up levels and unplug remote, keeping those settings but unplugging remote returns levels to default. Best to set up and tuck the remote out of the way with cable tied up beside sub or if possible, use head unit settings and leave remote. Quick hint for new sub users: this gives some thump but is really a good foundation for tuneful full range bass sound, not ideal for vibrating windows. When setting levels up, less is often more. Criticism elsewhere of distortion when turned up to full gain is not valid, any equipment is subject to this issue if improperly set up. Overall, really surprising performance for the price and size. If you need to fill out the sound from small/ bass light factory speakers, this is unbeatable. Am impressed and will buy again in the same circumstances. Read full review

Was expecting slightly more bass from It but if you don’t want to loose boot space with big box and only want to tweak sound system it’s not to bad looks nice feels quality product But had I tried it before buying would probably not have bought it might game same sounds with cheaper brand I’m thinking

My car has always been lacking in base. Its got uprated component speakers so the mid level and higher frequencies were fine. I wanted an easy and affordable method to add some bass without wasting any space in the boot where you'd normally put a bass speaker. This little bass speaker fits under the passenger seat and connects to the back of the head unit. It comes with all the cabling and fasteners required. As with any install it took a bit of time to hide the wires but once installed it sounded great.. Its surprising powerful for its size and adds much needed low frequencies. I'm extremely happy with this unit and would recommend it to anyone.

I installed this in a Vauxhall Corsa 2009. If you have a small car and you want to accommodate adult rear passengers then don't expect to mount it under the seat - It won't fit so it was located behind the drivers seat against the vertical wall below the rear seat where it didn't impact the rear passengers or getting in or our of the car. A much better location. The alloy casing made it easy to drill and tap an additional M4 hole to relocate the mounting bracket. Wiring was no problem. For signal in I used the phono jack line-out from the head unit so I had to buy a phono-phono stereo cable as the unit is only supplied with twin wire that hooks up to the speaker wires. It transforms the listening experience. A nice unit.

I paid £95 for mine and although it's been many years since I installed an amplifier to a car found it straight forward to hook it up to my pioneer head unit. I had to supply the rca subwoofer cable and the yellow power cable needed an eye connector to connect it direct to the battery positive terminal. Routing the power cable through the firewall was a fun challenge on my Scooby but I took my time to make it look professional . Routing the rest of the a little girl under the carpet from the rear footwell to the head unit was a squeeze but ensured a hidden professional install. For a small unit it packs quite a punch and definitely improves the bass in the car even with stock speakers. It's no monster but fills the cabin with rich bass and certainly for its size is very impressive. I highly recommend this type of subwoofer as a space saving way to upgrade your ice. Top marks kenwood.Read full review
